I visited here with my high school students. The diner was able to accommodate 40 of us. Food was excellent; our server Kayla was a trooper working 37 teenagers!

Coal Miner's Diner is a nice, quiet diner to enjoy a meal with family and friends. Good food and service. We went for our first time this morning. Between My husband, our daughter and I, we had omelets, french toast, bagel, sausage and toast. It was all really good. They prefer cash over card and have an atm inside if you need to use it. I recommend giving it a try!

We my sister and her husband were visiting from Vermont for the weekend, and we needed to go to Johnstown to deliver a packagein Johnstown. Since we were already in the area, we decided to visit the Flight 93 Memorial. On the way, while on Route 30 we stopped at the Coal Miner’s Diner for lunch. We found the restaurant to be charming and the waiter was friendly and very attentive to our needs, although he was brand new at the job. The menu was generally composed of “Comfort Food” all of which were enticing. Given the schedule we decided to keep the meal simple, Two of us decided to try the Mushrooms and Cheese Hamburger with French Fries, one ordered the special of the day, Stuffed Cabbage Soup and the 4th of the party ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger with Onion Rings. We all found the food to be well prepared an cooked not to mention tasty. In addition they offer interesting pastries. The house specialty is Gob Cakes, a soft, cake-like cookies sandwiched together with a creamy frosting filling. They are available in a variety of flavors, including classic chocolate, vanilla, and peanut butter, the Gob Cakes are a must-try. We came away knowing we will be back next time we are in Jennerstown. When you are in the area you should try the Coal Miner’s Diner

A great place to eat when visiting the Flight 93 Memorial site. Pancakes and French toast with bacon were served in huge portions fresh off the griddle.

7/30/25 Pasta Pescatore: Alfredo sauce was very bland, needed more cheese & salt. The calimari was cooked perfect as was the muscles and shrimp. There was, I think, 2pc of norwegian lobster but it was good. I believe the noodles were homemade. Meatloaf n Mashed Potatoes: large, beefy serving and real potatoes. Crispy Chicken Salad: nice big salad, lots of veggies, tomato just ok. Pretty skimpyvwith the chicken. All served with their big homemade buns. Deserts were ok. Coconut cream pie had no meringue wth. Service was good. 6/24/25 We ordered a hickory smoked burger n cheeseburger n fries. The hamburger itself, 10/10. Delicious flavorful beef, hand-pressed beef on a homemade bun. I thonk it was a half pound burger. Gobs n gob cakes that looked 6" high. Rachael was a wonderful, pleasant server. Will go back!!!!

Have driven past this restaurant many times but honestly did not know it was a restaurant until recently as I am not from the area. Decided to give it a try after seeing ads. There is no host to seat you as it is seat yourself. The dining room is open with lots of seating. There is also a small room where you walk in that can be for a private party. Our waiter was a bit slow to arrive at our table but he was friendly. Portions were large and the food was good. The dinner rolls you need to ask for and they cost around a $1, but they are large and worth the money. They make some huge desserts like their gob cakes, which are delicious. Prices are not bad. Parking located in the front and rear. Building makes for a unique experience.
